The Carroll County Area YMCA first started in an office building across from Sonic in November 2012. Programs and activities were run at local schools and business through out the community.
Our current store front facility, located at 101 N. Main Street, opened to the public Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Members have full access to the entire facility as well as the Grand River Area Family YMCA (Chillicothe, MO) and the North Central Missouri YMCA (Brookfield, MO).
At 7,500 square feet, the YMCA has a full fitness center; multipurpose room with aerobic classes, as well as family activities; social room with pool table, ping pong; child watch area available for members hours while using facility; and bathrooms with a shower for member use. The YMCA has a strong partnership with the City of Carrollton and YMCA members are allowed to use the new Carrollton Cove Aquatic Center. Another partnership we are thankful to have is with the Carroll County Memorial Hospital and LifeStyle Fitness. YMCA members are allowed to use the LifeStyle Fitness pool, hot tub and sauna during the allowed hours and season. As of March 2020, the CCMH partnership and accessibility is on hold due to covid but once the public is allowed back into CCMH for normal operating purposes, we hope to reinstate that partnership.
Beginning January 1, 2022, the YMCA will have 24/7 access availability to all current YMCA members 19 and over. If a member is interested in this availability, the member much purchase a $10 key fob and sign the 24/7 agreement and waiver. Business hours will be changing on January 1, 2022 so please see website for the changed hours.
As of January 1, 2022 there will be a MEMBERSHIP FOR ALL income based option for anyone who supplies their 1040 for income verification. For more information on MEMBERSHIP FOR ALL please contact the welcome center.
Please come by and check out the facility. The YMCA will also have someone available during business hours to give tours to those interested. For more information, call 542-0011.
