Give to the Y

Financial assistance keeps the Y available for the kids and families who need us most.  We count on the generosity of our members and community to help people of all ages and from all walks of life be more healthy, confident, connected, and secure.

When you give to the Y, your gift has a positive impact in your own neighborhood and makes your community stronger.  It is only when we work together that we can create lasting personal and social change. Below are just a few of the ways your gifts to the YMCA are being used to impact Carroll County and the surrounding area.

Capital Campaign

The YMCA is currently raising funds for its capital campaign to renovate the recently purchased property formally known as, Adams School. As wonderful as it has been to have started in our current, rented facility, we fortunately have outgrown the space. With this new space, we will be able to house more programs onsite, grow our membership base and partner with Care Connection for Aging Services-Senior Center. For more information on how you can impact our community forever by donating to the capital campaign, please contact Kathy Lock at 660-542-0011. Progress on the project will come soon.

Endowment Fund

The YMCA Endowment Fund provides a secure, stable foundation upon which the YMCA can build its future. Gifts to the Fund are invested, allowing the YMCA to use the interest to support critical programs that require contributions to survive. Gifts can be made to the Endowment Fund in any amount or at any time.

“…What a wonderful experience it has been the last year or so working with so many great people from Carroll County. It is amazing how a community, young and old, can come together for such a great cause. The excitement on the faces of the children …

Partners with Youth

The annual Partners with Youth Campaign ensures that the YMCA is there for those who need us most and enables every member of our community to have access to diverse programs and activities that meet their needs. By supporting this campaign, you help guarantee that everyone, regardless of their circumstances or ability to pay, can benefit from the YMCA’s values-centered programs.

Y-PALS

Y-PALS is a program of the Carroll County Area YMCA that provides children in need with an adult role model and regularly scheduled activities so that children, through one-on-one interactions with an adult volunteer, will receive guidance, a wider variety of appropriate life experiences, and opportunities for friendship and companionship.

Become a Mentor: Change Two Lives

Young People Actively Learning Success” reaches children ages 6-14 years who need a positive role model, more self-esteem, and improved self-confidence. Y-PALS helps kids build social skills, develop a friendship, and provides them with someone who will listen. Y-PAL volunteers share their free time with a youth about four hours per month. Y-PALS can do ordinary things like talking on the phone, playing board games, going bowling, making dinner, walking the dog, going to the library, and reading to each other. Through these activities, the child develops a positive self-image which will help him or her imagine a brighter future.

If you believe your child or a child you know could benefit from being part of the Y-PALS program, please call Kathy Lock at (660) 542-0011 or stop by the YMCA to pick up an application.  You may also click here to download an application.  There is no charge for being part of the Y-PALS program.
